Welcome to the Symposium's Homepage
The Institute for Theoretical Chemistry and the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Vienna present the Symposium on "Molecular Systems: From Chemistry to Evolution", to be held in Vienna from 7th to 8th October 2011.
The Symposium is dedicated to Professor Emeritus Peter Schuster on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
The meeting is devoted to highlight recent research on evolutionary concepts in the fields of chemistry and biology.
List of renowned speakers:
- Martin Nowak (Harvard University, USA)
- Günter Wagner (Yale University, USA)
- Gerhard B. Müller (University of Vienna)
- Gustavo Caetano-Anolles (University of Illinois, USA)
- Josef Penninger (Institute of Molecular Biotechnology, Austria)
- Pauline Hogeweg (Utrecht University, Netherlands)
- Walter Fontana (Harvard University, USA)
- Peter F. Stadler (University Leipzig, Germany)
- Sonja J. Prohaska (University Leipzig, Germany)
- Sebastian Bonhöffer (ETH Zürich, Switzerland)

For organiztional efficiency it would be a great help if everyone who is going to attend this symposium could register. This way we can ensure the availability of enough space, food and (pre-printed) badges.
Especially young participants are encouraged to contribute posters. A Poster Award will be given to the best (presented) poster assigned by an independent committee.
The Symposium will be held at the University of Vienna.
